Garry Waldrop, DDS
I love being a dentist, and after 40 years I couldn’t imagine my life without the wonderful people I get to serve and work with every day. I have come to realize how much my patients have appreciated our efforts to take care of their dental health, and doing so in a comfortable, anxiety-free environment.
I have met some truly interesting people that have walked through our doors, people from different parts of the country and from every background imaginable. I have learned so much as I have gotten to know them and their families. Everyone has something to share, and I appreciate the relationships I have been able to build.
- Bachelor of Science – Lamar University, Beaumont, TX
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of Texas Dental Branch
Over the many years I have been in practice, I have witnessed some amazing advancements in the technology we use to treat our patients. I have taken hundreds, perhaps even thousands of hours of continuing education and was granted Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry after completing 500 hours of continuing study. Since then, I have taken numerous courses at dental schools, private institutions, and dental conventions to stay abreast of changes in technology and research developments in the daily practice of dentistry. I have also completed two mini-residencies in aesthetic and implant dentistry.

About our Office
We have a dynamic office and treat our patients with excellent customer service. At Lifetime Dental Care, we know that making a dental experience first-class begins with friendly, helpful people. Our team is made up of the finest people who genuinely enjoy serving our patients with kind and compassionate care. They go above and beyond what is expected to make sure each of our patients enjoys their time with us and leaves with a smile on their face.
I was born in the Beaumont, TX, area and lived there until moving to Houston after my bachelor’s degree was completed. After dental school I began my practice in the Memorial City area, and after about 35 years there I moved offices to Katy in 2008 to be closer to our country house near Simonton. In Simonton, I have a garden, horses, dogs, and a few unwanted critters from time to time! There, I enjoy my barn/shop where I have learned to build race cars for road racing at Texas World Speedway. My wife, Karen, and I have enjoyed our horses and competing in team penning for several years. After raising our children, we have been able to do some traveling. We enjoy going everywhere, both domestic and abroad. When time permits, I also enjoy hunting, fishing, scuba diving, water skiing, bicycling, running, and snow skiing.
In the Community
Now that my children are grown and starting their own careers and families, I am no longer active in the school activities, fundraising events, and coaching that occupied me many evenings and Saturdays. Since then, I have enjoyed being active in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo committees for more than 20 years.
